The Episcopal Church

It's rather like "the heel bone connected to the ankle bone, the ankle bone connected to the leg bone, . . . ." and all part of one body. For, you see, St. Andrew's Church is a constituent part of the Diocese of Quincy, which is a constituent part of the Episcopal Church, which is a constituent part of the Anglican Communion, which is a constituent part of God's One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church, which, through the succession of bishops ("episcopoi"), goes back directly through history to our Lord Jesus Christ and his first Apostles.

Hence, there is really no such thing as "the Episcopal religion" or "the Episcopal faith." The Faith we have received, hold in sacred trust, teach, and live is none other than the ancient Christian Faith enshrined in the scriptures, creeds, sacraments, and apostolic ministry. the life of The Episcopal Church is formed and nourished by the worship of Almighty God, and it is that worship which most clearly and explicitly manifests that ancient Christian Faith.

To come to know that Faith, experientially as well as academically, we invite you, first of all, to join us in regular Sunday worship. Secondly, we most sincerely welcome you to any of our educational programs. And, of course, to get to know us better, please do join us in any of our many fellowship-building, social-type activities. An excellent way to begin that is to join us for coffee immediately following Sunday Mass.
