165. Robert W.6 BEAGLES (Joseph7) was born in Bowling Green, Warren Co., Kentucky 24 Apr 1827. Robert died 3 Feb 1916 in Tyner, Marshall Co., Indiana, at 88 years of age. * * * * * From the Plymouth (Indiana) Weekly Democrat, February 10, 1916. The funeral of Robert Beagles was held Saturday at 1 o'clock at the U.B. Church at Tyner. Rev. Miner officiating with burial at the Blissville cemetery. It was very largely attended, friends coming from far and near to pay their last tribute of respect to the oldest and one of the most worthy citizens of Polk Township. Those that came to Plymouth on the morning train on shopping and business errands returned on the early noon train to be at the funeral. * * * * From the Plymouth (Indiana) Weekly Democrat, February 10, 1916. Robert Beagles was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky, April 2, 1827 and departed this life at his home in Tyner, Indiana February 3, 1916 at the age of 88 years 10 months and 1 day. He moved with his parents to Marshall County, Polk Township, at the age of about nine years. He was married to Phoebe McCormick October 4, 1848. This union lasted until March 16, 1881, being more than thirty four years duration. To them were born twelve children, ten daughters and two sons. Two daughters, Rebecca Landis of Cluver and Iola Miller of Gillroy, California and one son Robert of Tyner still survive him; eight daughters and one son preceded him in death. He was married again November 17, 1881 to Melinda Coyle of Three Oaks, Michigan. This union was spared until death severed the same. He lived a Christian life for about fifty years and his neighbors and brethern often speak of him as a true loyal Christian. He was a member of the Tyner United Bretheran church until he died. The church feels that one of its very faithful members has left for his reward in the beyond. He joined the volunteers of the last call in the rebellion and though only for a few months he served in the cooking department until the close of the war. The mourning relatives are as follows: a faithful companion, two daughters, one son, four stepsons, one step daughter, twenty-five grandchildren, thirty-six great grandchildren, one half brother, George W. Singleton of Stillwell Station, Indiana. * * * * *

His body was interred 5 Feb 1916 in BlissvilleCem, Marshall Co., Indiana, Blissville Cemetery.

Phoebe died 7 Mar 1882 in Tyner, Marshall County, Indiana, at 54 years of age. Her body was interred 9 Mar 1882 in Blissville, Marshall County, Indiana, Blissville Cemetery. At 23 years of age Phoebe became the mother of Phebe BEAGLES in Indiana, 1850. At 24 years of age Phoebe became the mother of Mary J. BEAGLES in Polk Twp, Marshall County, Indiana, 12 Oct 1851. At 24 years of age Phoebe became the mother of Mary M. BEAGLES in Polk Twp, Marshall County, Indiana, 12 Oct 1851. At 28 years of age Phoebe became the mother of Lewis Anderson BEAGLES in Polk twp, Marshall Co., Indiana, 21 Jun 1855. At 30 years of age Phoebe became the mother of Rebecca Catharine BEAGLES in Tyner, Marshall, Indiana, 30 May 1857. At 31 years of age Phoebe became the mother of Zelpha Josephine BEAGLES in Polk Twp., Marshall, Indiana, 31 Dec 1858. At 33 years of age Phoebe became the mother of Iola Elizabeth Betty BEAGLES in Polk Twp, Marshall County, Indiana, 1 Nov 1860. At 35 years of age Phoebe became the mother of Robert F. BEAGLES in Marshall, Indiana, 4 Apr 1863. At 41 years of age Phoebe became the mother of Emma A. BEAGLES in Polk Twp, Marshall County, Indiana, 18 Aug 1868. At 43 years of age Phoebe became the mother of Anetta BEAGLES in Polk twp., Marshall, Indiana, 13 Jun 1870. At 43 years of age Phoebe became the mother of Antoinette BEAGLES in Polk, Marshall, Indiana, 13 Jun 1870. He married Malinda LONG in Three Oaks, Berrien County, Michigan, 17 Nov 1881. The marriage of Robert W. Beagles and Malinda Long Coil was witnessed by John L. Hess and Minna K. Hess of Three Oaks, Michigan. They were married by Samuel Hess, Justice of the Peace, and their license was dated November 7, 1882, record number F103, November 1882.

Malinda was born in Ohio 12 Apr 1827. Malinda died 19 Mar 1918 at 90 years of age. She resided in Stark County, Indiana November 1882.

BEAGLES in Marshall, Indiana, 4 Apr 1863. Robert served in the military 1865. Robert W. Beagles served in the civil war the last several months of 1865 in a cooking unit. He was a private in the Company H 155 Indiana Volunteer Infantry. This is per the declaration for widow's pension filed by Malinda on September 16, 1916. It showed her residing at Tyner, Indiana. His certificate number is 808667.

At 43 years of age Robert became the father of Anetta BEAGLES in Polk twp., Marshall, Indiana, 13 Jun 1870. At 43 years of age Robert became the father of Antoinette BEAGLES in Polk, Marshall, Indiana, 13 Jun 1870. * * * * According to a plat map of 1881, Robert Beagles owned 120 acres, which could be described as follows: The east half of the northwest quarter of Section 16; and the west half of the west half of the northeast quarter of Section 16; all being in Polk Township, Marshall County, Indiana.
