Death of Aged Woman Mrs. Susannah Hoke died of the Infirmaties of Age Last Wednesday, May 25 At the Home of Her Daughter at Elizabeth Aged Eighty-Seven Years Burial Friday at Rogers Camp Ground

Mrs. Susannah Hoke, widow of the late George W. Hoke died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Funk, at Elizabeth, at eight o'clock last Wednesday evening May 25, of infirmaties of age. She had been in failing health for some time. Funeral services were held at the Rogers Camp Ground church, in Posey Township, at two o'clock last Friday afternoon, conducted by Rev. H. L. Holden, pastor of the Elizabeth M. E. Circuit. The burial was in the church cemetery nearby. The deceased was a life long resident of this county. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Shreck. She was eighty-eight years old and leaves surviving her nine children, six sons and three daughters. Lincoln H. Hoke and Mrs. John Funk, of this county, Tolbert A. Hoke, of Floyd County. Philip M. Hoke of Hayworth, Illinois, George W. Hoke of Louisville, Charles Hoke of Miles City, Montana, and Mrs. Mildred Peters, Mrs. Ira Cooper, and WIlliam Hoke of Illinois. One daughter, Mrs. Sam Marsh, died a few years ago near Muncie, Indiana. The deceased was a good woman in every sense of the word. She was for many years a member of the only Dunkard church in this county, wihch is in Boone Township, and she was a devoted christian. Her family and the parents of the editor of this paper lived on adjoining farms for many years, and we cheerfully bear testimony to the fact that Mrs. Hoke was one of the best and most sincere women we have ever known. We regret that we could not get away from the office to attend the funeral last Friday, but Miss Stella was away and we could not leave.
