JOHN AND ISABELLA ROBINSON

John Robinson (1797-1891) and wife Isabella Fyffe Robinson (1812-1904) left Drumquin, County Tyrone, Ireland about 1880 to come to America. Some of their children were already farming near the northern Logan-Dewitt County line, but it must have been hard to leave their other children and grandchildren. John and Isabella settled on a small farm in Oran Township (Section 23) across from North Bethel School. After John's death in 1891 Isabella lived with her son David, and his small children. She passed away April 24, 1904 and was buried beside John in Harmony Cemetery. Of their ten children, Mary Lindsey and Rebecca died in Ireland. Belle Sawyer went to Australia. Matilda Turner went to Nebraska. The six who settled in the Beason-Waynesville-Midland City area were: ELIZABETH (1841-1915) called Liza Jane, came with her husband, James Roulston and their younger children about 1891. Their son, Andrew had come earlier. Other children were: Belle Robinson, James, John, Margaret Irvine, Matilda McCrea, and David, all born in Ireland. ROBERT (1847-1928) came to this area before 1878. He married Belle Roulston. She died in 1903, leaving three young children: Margaret, Matilda, and John (Jack). There were no grandchildren. Anna was sleepy and replied that if she were going to drown, she could drown just as well in bed. In 1895 Anna married Thomas Scribner, who had come from Tennessee. They lived at Midland City and later at Clinton. Their children were: Alta Allen, Ralph (Scotty), Loraine (Fanny), Evelyn, Louise, John, and Gertrude Lafferty.
